✔️ How does Audicare Ear Drops work?

Audicare Ear Drops is a combination of four medicines: Lidocaine , Clotrimazole , Beclometasone and Ofloxacin. 

• Lidocaine blocks pain signals from nerves to the brain, reducing pain sensation in the ear.
• Clotrimazole inhibits fungal growth by disrupting fungal cell wall synthesis.
• Ofloxacin prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, exerting antibacterial effects.
• Beclometasone Blocks the production of inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandins, reducing inflammation, redness, swelling, and itchiness.

✔️ Side Effects of Audicare Ear Drops

• Adverse reactions may include itching, burning, irritation, dryness, earache, headache, vertigo, dizziness, redness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acne, and hypopigmentation.
• Systemic side effects are uncommon.

✔️ Each ml of Audicare Ear Drops contains:

• Ofloxacin BP 3 mg: A broad-spectrum antibacterial agent targeting otic pathogens.
• Clotrimazole BP 10 mg: A broad-spectrum antifungal agent effective against fungal infections.
• Beclomethasone Dipropionate BP 0.25 mg: A potent steroid with anti-inflammatory properties.
• Lidocaine Hydrochloride BP 20 mg: A local anesthetic providing pain relief.

✔️ Audicare Ear Drops are indicated for the treatment of:

• Superficial bacterial and fungal infections of the external auditory canal and middle ear.
• Infections caused by organisms susceptible to Ofloxacin and Clotrimazole.

✔️ Pharmacology

• Ofloxacin: Inhibits DNA gyrase of bacteria, effective against various bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
• Clotrimazole: Inhibits fungal cell wall synthesis by inhibiting Cytochrome P-450, effective against Candida, Microsporum, and Trichophyton.
• Beclomethasone Dipropionate: Potent anti-inflammatory steroid, inhibits release of inflammatory mediators.
• Lidocaine Hydrochloride: Provides local anesthesia, reducing pain and stinging sensation.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Audicare Ear Drops

• Adults & Children: Instill 2-5 drops three to four times daily into the affected ear for 7-14 days.
• Instruction for Use: Tilt head to one side, gently pull the ear lobe, and instill drops. For pediatric patients, pull the ear lobe down & backward.

Drug-Drug Interaction:

• Pain Killers (Acetaminophen, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Celecoxib, Diclofenac, Indomethacin, Meloxicam): Potential interaction with painkillers, which may require dosage adjustments or monitoring for adverse effects.
• Corticosteroids (Prednisone): Possible interaction with corticosteroids, necessitating close monitoring for systemic effects.
• Anti-Diabetics (Insulin): Interaction with anti-diabetic medications, requiring careful monitoring of blood glucose levels.
• Respiratory Drugs (Theophylline): Potential interaction with respiratory drugs, necessitating monitoring for adverse effects.
• Blood Thinners (Warfarin): Interaction with blood thinners, requiring monitoring of coagulation parameters.
• Water Pills: Possible interaction with water pills, necessitating monitoring for electrolyte imbalances.

Drug-Food Interaction:

Drug-Disease Interaction:

• Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to Ofloxacin, other quinolones, or any components of the medication.
• Contraindicated in viral infections of the ear.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• Safety during pregnancy or lactation is not established.
• Use during pregnancy or lactation should be weighed against potential risks to the fetus or nursing infant.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Discontinue use if no favorable response occurs within one week.
• Prolonged use may lead to overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms.
• Monitor for local irritation or sensitization; discontinue if needed.
• Further evaluation is recommended if otorrhea persists or recurs frequently.
• Keep this medicine in the container it came in, tightly closed.

Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
